5 out of 5 stars Keep It On Replay   October 10, 2008

This CD is absolutely beautiful - the sound is crisp and clear and the playing magnificent. I listen to it over and over to give me inspiration and "get up and go" throughout my day.

5 out of 5 stars Richard Clayderman the greatest pianist   July 27, 2008
Heller (jacksonville fl)
This CD is excepts from all the great concerto's Just the beautful,or the melodic music out of all the famous concerto's. Accompanied by the London Philharmonic Orchestra it just beautiful. I wonder if Clayderman is capable of making a bad CD?

1 out of 5 stars For non-serious listeners only!   January 7, 2008
J. Irsay (NYC, USA)
Well, what can you say about Richard Clayderman? Anything one says about him says more, in truth, about his audience... naive non-specialist listeners who, at least, are not listening to Rap. But for any serious musician or listener, Clayderman's work and approach sticks in the craw. His music is one step away from a synthesizer. Though it's no worse than the piano music published for amateurs in the nineteenth century, with the same banal melodies and utter lack of musical sophistication, we get the impression that he knows he is a well-paid, third-world famous hack.

Proof positive: Watch his youtube video of the Tschaikovsky Concerto desecration. I say "watch" (never mind the cheap additions and chop-ups), as his hands most often have nothing to do with the music, while his face emotes those counterfeit feelings that drive his innocent, impressionable fans wild.

He is apparently a beloved figure in the middle-of-the-road pop-classical world. He has found his audience, works hard and easily pays the rent. I guess he has reached as far as he wants to reach.

5 out of 5 stars A Must-Buy CD   December 29, 2007

Richard Clayderman has put together an excellent CD. His great selections plus the Orchestra background make this a very classy CD and definitely a must-buy for even the average music lover.

5 out of 5 stars One word--LIFESAVER   October 4, 2005
Scott Baret (Pittsburgh, PA USA)
I live in a very noisy dormatory and often have trouble falling asleep. I've found that this disc, with its relaxing pieces, is able to calm me enough that I can get a decent amount of rest each night.

I'm not saying the songs on here are boring, though. They are well-performed. Many of them were familiar to me before I first played this disc, others were not. I am very diverse in my musical tastes and appreciate this music. However, the relaxation value one gets from a CD like this one is much more than one could expect from a band like Beach Boys, Pink Floyd, The Police, or Crash Test Dummies to name a few.

Even if you don't live in a noisy dorm this is a good CD to relax to. It's also good dinner music and is perfect for when that special sweetie is in your car with you en route to a five star restaraunt. (Hopefully it comes on cassette so I can play it in my car, too!)

Richard Clayderman also has put out numerous other albums. One that I have been unable to find in CD but have on LP record is "A Romantic Christmas", which includes many great piano arrangments of popular Christmas songs including arguably the best version of "Silver Bells" I've ever heard, including all the ones with vocals that have passed through my ears over my lifetime.
