Amazon.com Contemporary metal doesn't get much better or blistering than Lamb of God, something the quintet proves track-by-track on this latest offering. Armed with a bevy of furious riffs and perhaps even more furious vocals, the group tears through tracks such as "Walk with Me in Hell" and "Foot to the Throat" with a ferocity too-little-heard among the sea of bands that the group has inspired in its still-young career. Detractors will be tempted to fault the band for its lack of subtlety, but they're clearly missing the point. There are but a handful of young heavy bands worthy of carrying the proud torch of metal in this decade, and Lamb of God--along with The Esoteric and Totimoshi--is one of them. Just take a listen to "Again We Rise," "Requiem," or "Pathetic" and see if you don't agree. --Jedd Beaudoin

WarbirdNovember 22, 2008 Mark A. Lindsley(Ogden) I have been experimenting with new music and bought this on a whim. keep in mind that I just invested about 5000 bucks in a car stereo for a blown 2004 Z06 Corvette and was feeling like really putting this equipment to the test. Lamb of God almost blew my ears out - the bass was so intense it was causing the CD to actually skip in the reader. 'Walk with me in Hell' was the first track. now, anyone that has listened to this type of music might think its just screaming, Lamb of God is notably different in that the singer seems able to create an effect that is borderline singing, the emotion is there, I have never been more blown away with a group since first stumbling across Ozzy many dark moons ago. I nearly destroyed the car and it would have been worth it. I have seen the light of a new religion and it is Lamb of God.
SacramentSeptember 6, 2008 Mike Smith The first thing that comes to mind when I listen to Lamb of God is "they sound like Pantera". This is a complement. I love Pantera. But they are not a copycat band so you are still going to get originality combined with pulse-pounding heavy metal intensity. I also have "As The Palaces Burn" and really like that album too, but I'd say that Sacrament is a bit more refined. Love the riffage on both albums. There is a whole lot to like about Lamb of God. Consider both for your metal collection.
Descending into the darkest release yetAugust 19, 2008 N. Sanchez(georgia) You'll feel like a recovering heroin addict as you sit in a dark corner rocking back and forth from the shock......the shock that music this good exists!!!! God bless Lamb of God, you guys are geniuses!

i was counting the days for this cd to come out.log is one of my fav bands.i love all their outher cds but i cant say the same for sacrament.as soon as i turned it on i knew there was somthing wrong.these songs were nothing i was hoping for.its sounds like a totally diffrent group,i couldnt belive my ears,i was seriously pissed off.im not saying its not good talented music but its not log.redneck is just the worst song ive ever heard by the band i think the lyrics to it just straight up suck, bad case of writers block i would guess.every song randy repeats himself like a hundred times sayin the same thing over n over it gets really annoying to me and on top of it he totally changes his singing style which to my ears was a bad move.i will always be a fan of older log but as of now i cant say the same for the new log.it seems these guys have just gotten to famous at this point and are just out of touch or going after the money but either way you can only piss ur true fans off so many times before they say enough is enough.before buying it i would figure out a way to hear it first because you will most likely want to save your cash after a listen and if sacrament is what dose it for you log wise thats awsome but i dont feel the same.
This time the lamb does the slaughter!July 5, 2008 Drifter(Texas,USA) For awhile now I never really liked lamb of god but I decided to go ahead and buy this cd after already owning Ashes in the Wake and discovered a new must have band for any metalhead's collection. This band kicks your [...] from the start to the finish on this cd. I have become a serious lamb of god fan now and I listen to this cd and ashes all the time now. All their political digs aside which I don't fully agree with this band has a killer sound and the vocals make them even better they fit the type of brutallity you hear when you play songs like Walk with me in Hell,or Redneck. This band is one of best in American metal alongside Killswitch of course. I would recomend this cd to anybody who likes brutal, heavy hard hitting metal that kicks [...] from start to finish.
