Album Description Catch the 2-CD full live concert David played at the Gdansk, Poland shipyards. Includes Pink Floyd favorites "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" and "Breathe." Also featured on the first bonus DVD highlights from the concert as well as a documentary on Poland's Solidarity Movement. Album Description Two CD set includes two DVDs and booklet. David Gilmour Live in the Gdansk Shipyard with the Baltic Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. This is the first solo live album from Pink Floyd's singer / guitarist, and it captures the magic of his concert held in front of 50,000 people as the final performance of his critically acclaimed 2006 `On An Island Tour.' It features the first ever recording of selected Pink Floyd classics performed with an orchestra. Produced by David Gilmour and Phil Manzanera. It is the first ever live recording with an orchestra of Pink Floyd's `High Hopes' and `A Great Day For Freedom,' the latter performed here as a one off for this special Solidarity anniversary. Playing at this historic concert is Richard Wright - Pink Floyd's keyboard player, Phil Manzanera, Roxy Music guitarist & coproducer of 'On An Island', Guy Pratt -bass player with Pink Floyd & Roxy Music Jon Carin -keyboards & longtime player with Pink Floyd, Steve Di Stanislao - drums, recently with Crosby and Nash, Dick Parry -saxophone and longtime Pink Floyd collaborator.

| Customer Reviews:
Farewell to Wright December 5, 2008 M. M. Slagter (Barranquila, Colombia) I received this CD/DVD combo just two days ago. At first glance, while the whole graphic concept is really attractive and nicely done, the package quality was below my expectations, the materials seems somehow cheap and the discs have a tendency to fell out from the envelope (something similar happened to me with the PULSE - red blinking light - CD package). But this failure can be easily overlooked because the sound and picture quality were good and this is what really matters. As for the song selection, it is easy for us, Pink Floyd fans, to expect as much as many Floyd material as possible, but, although this is a truly David Gilmour set, is a nice and pleasant one. I would prefer a less "On an Island" product, but for that case we have the two previous DVDs released by David. There are two important highlights here: the Echoes full performance in the third disc and the Barn Jam sessions in the fourth one. In my case, this two peak points justifies the whole set. Specially the Barn Jam sessions. I am a dedicated Pink Floyd fan and for me it was very sad to see Rick Wright in what may be one of the lasts recorded performances of him. It's paradoxical: in my case this collection is more about Wright than Gilmour, at least while I get used to the idea that the great keyboardist is no longer among us.
Not that good. November 30, 2008 J. Riley This is not the best I've seen from David but if you are a fan you might like the show. The Island Live is a much better show.
Minor Problem November 29, 2008 Linda Jones (Niagara Region, Ontario) The dvd portion of this boxed set didn't play one track. An email to Amazon resulted in a new set within two days! We are now enjoying the whole boxed set. We wouldn't hesitate to order anything from Amazon, excellent customer service.
Amazing! November 29, 2008 Mario A. Albuquerque (Avare, SP, Brazil) Really very good. Not better then Royal Albert Hall concert, but a rare performance to a huge audience. A set-list for fan's, I'd say. Buy and you won't regret.
Excellent Performance November 25, 2008 Alien (Belgium) David Gilmour plays like no other , and you will enjoy his guitarlicks.I would like to give this 5 stars , but for that he had to play even more Floydsongs...If you can buy the 4disc-set , you have a great deal.It is very cheap for a set with 2 cd's and 2 excellent dvd's.One more thing : this concert is recorded with HD-cameras and it shows!
