Amazon.com Salvador's Myrrh Records debut is a powerhouse production of Latin-influenced praise and worship. Producer Monroe Jones (Chris Rice, Third Day, Ginny Owens) has again demonstrated his Midas touch. The album begins with an explosion of Latin-funk in "Lord, I Come Before You," and then flows into a sizzling salsa groove with "David Danced." Between choruses there is an abundance of instrumental jamming for those who know how to use their feet. The horn section, flamenco guitar, and layered percussion glamorize this music with no holds barred. Never before has worship been this fun! But Salvador demonstrates tenderness as well. Lead singer Nick Gonzales makes this project complete with messages of salvation and healing. The five members of Salvador have much in common. Between them, there are two brothers, one cousin, two pastor's kids, and two worship leaders. These family and ministry ties have made an unmistakable mark on their music. They deliver pure spiritual material that cannot be ignored. --Israel Button

God Loves The Trumpet !!! January 10, 2007 Russell D. Dixon (Columbus, Ohio) Finally a Christian Band that uses great brass players! This album is the groups very best album to date in my opinion. They used several studio musicians (Nashville heavies Mike Haynes & Steve Patrick) on this album and the brass and excitement of the album are absolutely wonderful. Think of a Christian "Santana." If you are a Christian brass player ... get this album! These are the kind of albums Christian brass players LOVE in a world of rap & rhythm guitar!
FINALLY! August 11, 2002 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Finally, REAL music from the world of Christian music. You'll find more than "three chord wonders" here. It's great to hear musicians of this quality playing music of this quality with a Christian message. And it's fun too. This CD reminds me of a Christian combination of the Gypsy Kings and Chicago. I've given away at least four of these so far. BRAVO Salvador. Thanks for giving us so much enjoyment.
Big, BIG suprise. July 31, 2002 Steven Clem Haley (Stillwater, Oklahoma United States) First reaction: "Here's a group of guys who are going to be the Christian version of Menudo." Second reaction: "Here's a group of guys who sound like vintage Santana that found Christ right after Woodstock". Yeah, the lyrics are not all that earth-shattering,with the exception of the incredible 'Cry Holy', but the joy and enthusiasm with which they are performed make this disc well-worth the price and gamble. Sometimes worship just needs to be down-right fun.
WOW! May 18, 2002 This is one of the BEST cds I have heard in a very long time. I really can't get enought of this CD. I wish I had purchased two, since my wife kept mine!!!
Saw Them Live October 11, 2001 fizzacyst (Texas) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Salvador performed live at the Promise Keeper's Conference in Houston, Texas this weekend. I have seen lots of Christian bands and praise & worship teams perform live, and these guys absolutely take the cake. I was amazed at their vitality and joy in praising Jesus Christ combined with their musical ability which is second to none. Christian music is often criticized by the secular world as being substandard somehow -- but these guys obviously take their musicianship very seriously. The excellence and all-out, cut-loose approach is tangibly fresh and alive and I loved every second of their concert. The trumpet and trombone players had wild solos and the frontman's voice is strong, powerful... I could go on and on.
