Shark Sandwich October 16, 2008 Donald Shattuck (apex, nc) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've maintained an open mind but Uriah Heep IS Spinal Tap. And I have bothered to listen to nearly all of their albums. There are some interesting parts but most of it is masturbatory and silly at best.
Missing a great track July 14, 2008 jakintex (Spirit resides in WI, body in Texas) I love Uriah Heep and this album was awesome, but the CD version is missing the "Rock n Roll Medley" track that I foolishly didn't notice was not listed when I ordered it. If you don't mind that one track missing, the rest of the CD is great. For me, I liked that medley a lot. It was on the album, it should have been included on the CD.
If you're a UH fan, buy the UK version... The U.S. version sucks! October 25, 2006 ARMANDO R. VENEGAS (Lima, Peru) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
Back in the 70s, the double-LP version of this UH album was as popular as "Frampton Comes Alive". However the CD version issued in the U.S. by Mercury/Universal IS NOT COMPLETE (UGH!). If you want to have the full LP edit, get the UK Castle edition, which includes among others the unforgettable "Rock'n Roll Medley".
Heep's BEST live recording! September 14, 2005 Thomas W. Delia (Dalzell, SC United States) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I am partial to this live recording as my wife and I were in the Birmingham audience when it was recorded. Just like the Scorpions, Black Widow, Fingerprintz, Curved Air, Middle Of The Road, etc. I find Uriah Heep's live versions to be superior to their studio recordings. This CD is a must for any UH fan!
Uriah Heep cheap man's Deep Purple? August 3, 2005 Thin Timmy (New Orleans, La.) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I DON'T THINK SO! URIAH HEEP WAS EVERY BIT AS GOOD! THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST LIVE ALBUMS AND I MEAN REALLY LIVE! FROM SUNRISE TO LOVE MACHINE IT ROCKS! DAVID BYRON WAS A GREAT SINGER. KEN HENSLEY WAS A AWESOME SONGWRITER. THE ENTIRE BAND WAS GREAT MUSICIANS. THE ONLY FLAW IS THE SONGS LEFT OFF FROM THE ALBUM VERSION? ANYWAY IT STILL ROCKS AND SOME OF THE BEST MUSIC OF IT'S TIME!
