The soundtrack to the Jonathan Demme documentary, Stop Making Sense captures the Talking Heads live in 1984 on what would turn out to be their last major tour. This collection, and the film, is a true gift to the band's fans, a testament to the Heads' extraordinary talent, both in the studio and especially onstage. Frontman David Byrne infuses each song with a jolt of energy and drama that could only have come from a late-'70s art-school student. Now-classic tracks such as "Psycho Killer," "Girlfriend is Better," "Once in a Lifetime," "Take Me to the River," and "Burning Down the House" have never sounded better. This expanded 1999 reissue includes all nine of the original tracks, plus seven previously unheard cuts, including "Heaven," "Found a Job," and "Crosseyed and Painless." --Lorry Fleming

Our radio staion 100.1 THEX started playing this song by the Talking Heads and my husband went crazy over it. We could never get the radio station to take our call and they never said the name of the song after it was played. Well, thanks to Amazon you can play snips of the songs from the albums. I was able to suprise my excited husband and give it to him as a "Just Because" gift.

If you have ever seen the dvd and are hoping for all of the same things this cd is the closest thing to it. This is fantastic for anyone who wants to start listening to the Talking Heads or you have been listening to them for years.

This 1999 redeems the original release, which only had 9 songs and not in the order in which they were actually performed in the monumental live performance filmed by Jonathan Demme.
To hear the whole set list played in the intended order - and believe me, the order matters as anyone who's seen the film knows - is to relive the film, and that's a very, very good thing.
And if you never saw the film, Netflix it.
If you're already a Heads fan, this '99 issue is a great way to introduce a needy friend to one of the bands from the late 70's and 80's that really *mattered.*

I would just buy the DVD or VHS tape and make a recording from that, because they have left off Cities and I Zimbra. Frankly, Cities and I Zimbra are some of the best songs from that concert, and leaving them off the re-issue is a shame. Sorry to say, this album does not do the film justice.
