Amazon.com The Black Parade, My Chemical Romance's follow-up to the band's 2004 platinum major-label debut Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, was "way more dramatic, way more theatrical, completely over the top, borderline psychotic," says Gerard Way. "It's the most pure, intense thing we've ever been involved in." After years of touring, the band offers two incredible concerts on DVD as they move forward musically to ceremoniously end the era of The Black Parade.

CD JUST OKAY, DVD EXCELLENT!!!!! September 6, 2008 Cristin J. Santos (san diego,CA) This CD is okay as it is just the compilation of already released songs played live in mexico. I was a little disapointed cause I though it was a NEW cd and i couldn't wait to buy. i already have all of these songs!!! any way it's worth the price cause of the AWESOME DVD!!! it has 2 hrs or so of live footage at the mexico and new jersey show. the jersey show is excellent and feels like your there, w/ the band & GERARD!!!! so, yeah totally recomend. (if you can find cheaper than 20.00 or the DVD alone i would recomend that more.)
Black Parade Live August 26, 2008 A. Rego (E. Hanover, NJ) My Chemical Romance, a band from New Jersey releases a CD/DVD combo which covers their last tour for their Black Parade Album. The DVD contains some great live footage from Mexico and also footage from a concert they had last year at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ. The CD is all live songs also from the tour, but if your a fan, the video makes buying this a must. Awesome!
Amazing Concert! August 1, 2008 Mariana R. Paulino (Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil) I'm brazilian and I went to MCR concert in Sao Paulo earlier this year, and they are AMAZING! The Mexican concert captures all of MCR glory!
Disappointing. July 15, 2008 S. Russell (Hampshire, UK) 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
Unfortunately this is a groaning disappointment. Fairly poor execution instrumentally and Gerard can barely keep his breath let alone emulate the recorded versions of the songs. Formulaic set lists and uninspired arrangements contribute to what is frankly, an average affair. An overly produced record often results in a disappointing live show, not always, but this time is just does. I'm a MCR fan, no doubt, but I have to be honest, this is mediocre at best. Why? I turned it off after three songs and thought 'I can come back to this later'.
"The Black Parade is Dead!" is to My Chemical Romance what "Rock in Rio" is to Iron Maiden July 4, 2008 Denzel Lockheart (Edmonton, Canada) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
First off, MCR are number 5 on my favorite bands list, I have every album by them. The Black Parade is #4 on my top 10 albums of all time. I saw them on this tour (The Black Parade tour) and they were AWESOME, one of the best shows I've ever seen. When I heard this was going to be released, I thought it was going to be just another attempt to milk the cow but I was WRONG- I bought it and watched it and it's AMAZING. It proves that these guys are one of the best live shows around. The CD is the Mexico City show, and the DVD has the same show, alongside the Hoboken show. Let me review them: CD: 10/10. They chose the best show of the 2 for the CD, lo and behold the Mexico City show. These guys put on an amazing and energy-filled performance. Gerard's live vocals are amazing, the band are tight as ever and amazing. The sound quality is crystal clear and a pleasure to listen to. Listen to it on a huge stereo, and you'll be under the impression that you're at the concert! DVD: MEXICO CITY: 10/10: Even better than the CD! This time it's much move interesting, and a beauty to look at. Amazing pyro cues, great light show, and Gerard homages Bruce Dickinson a bit! The only thing I don't like is how they didn't include the encore songs, but the Hoboken show has them in a different setlist. The sound and image are crystal clear and candy for the ears and eyes. HOBOKEN: 8/10: Sadly not as good. Still great though! The band put on a tight performance and Gerard is in a good mood. What brings down this DVD a bit is that the setlist is inferior in comparison, and Gerard sounds a bit off on a couple songs, but still gives a great performance IMO. So overall, this CD/DVD package is WORTH the money for sure, especially if you're a fan. I'm sure glad I bought it. Don't miss out on the chance to own this beauty while you can, you won't regret it!
