Amazon.com Essentially a live showcase for their mega-selling breakthrough Fallen, this CD/DVD combo set chronicles Evanescence in peak form during a subsequent tour stop in Paris. The performances here lean early on the crunch of guitarists John Lecompt and Terry Balsamo (reaching a peak on the the band's potent cover of Korn's "Thoughtless"), but ultimately revolve around the melodramatic, goth-rooted vocal charisma of singer Amy Lee. It's on stripped-down, yet still larger-than-life takes of "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal," as well as the shadowy grace of "Breathe No More," that Lee stakes her claim to the alt.diva throne. Taken as a whole, the forceful renditions here argue that this live recording was hardly premature, instead well documenting the band's more direct musical tack and considerable live chops. The CD contains the appropriately named, previously unreleased studio track "Missing," while the DVD supplements its crisply shot and edited concert performances with four videos and an hour of documentary footage and interviews. --Jerry McCulley
Album Description Evanescence's "Anywhere But Home", captures one night of the magic as cameras entered The Zenith in Paris to capture the phenomenon. The two-disc DVD/CD features Evanescence's sold-out European tour and is offered in both 5.1 and two-track audio mixes. In addition to the live concert DVD, which was directed by Hamish Hamilton (U2, Peter Gabriel), "Anywhere But Home" also includes a CD of the concert presented in a two-track mix, and the previously unreleased studio recording of the composition "Missing." The DVD features the band's four music videos, an hour-long behind-the-scenes program, and some special surprises in addition to the concert film. The special surprises will be discovered by the viewer as they navigate the menus designed exclusively for this special release.

Awesome!!! November 16, 2008 April P. Cleaver (Austin, TX) If you like Evanescence, you will love this cd and concert dvd. The band is rockin' and they are fabulous. Take the time to watch all the bonus footage and music videos. Love it all.
Pretty much same as Fallen CD November 13, 2008 Heather (Illinois, USA) This is a great CD, just be aware that it is just a live version of the Fallen album. This is a live show they did in Paris and there are a couple new songs on this so if you are debating between the two CDs, I would get this one. It also comes with a bonus DVD of their live show so you can actually watch the concert as well which I liked. Personally, I have both this CD and the Fallen album (because this came out after Fallen) but I don't regret buying either. Like I said, if you are debating between Fallen or this, get this one. It is well worth it!!
From a beginner Evanescence fan September 21, 2008 A. Derrick First I would like to say that my fan fare of Evanescence is quite new, I've only gotten into them over the past 6 months or so, but I do have all their albums. anywhere but home is a pretty good CD/DVD. The live CD captures the energy of the concert and for the first time I found an artist that does not take any songs or addition commentray out of the CD that was included in the Live DVD. What you see in the DVD live concert is what you get in the Live CD. The DVD is great. The concert has that evanescence feel and it is filled with great behind the scenes footage. They have before the show, during the show clips, after the show, and life on the road as well as some bloopers and funny story's. A Must Have for Any evanescence fan.
Great Buy April 12, 2008 M. Morgan (Yakima, Wa.) This is a great value. The included DVD of backstage on their tour and the music videos makes this a great value for the price.
evanescence excellence February 16, 2008 fortune cookie (clermont fl.) i bought this mainly for the excellent music videos it has four of the groups best including my immortal(the crowd goes wild for this song in concert) then to find the concert video was superb the audio was awsum.this is one of my favorite groups and miss amy has such a range she goes from classic to hard rock in style with her exquisite silky voice not to mention she wears the Gothic look so well. anywhere from home,is a classic album from the start .definitely got my moneys worth this time
