Amazon.com Finally, the U.S. sees a domestic release of Fatboy Slim's On the Floor at the Boutique, hands down one of the most thrilling, addictive DJ mix albums ever released. Recorded live in 1998 at the Big Beat Boutique (epicenter of the mid- to late-'90s big-beat movement), Norman Cook, a.k.a. Fatboy Slim, takes the listener on a fascinating, diverse tour of four-on-the-floor sounds. What's always made Cook so great is the way that he seamlessly blends seemingly incongruous sounds to create righteously cool, shiny new beats; he truly is the trainspotting vinyl freak with an uncanny talent for creating accessible dance-floor shakers built of weird components. Take track 4--who'd have thought a spry blue-beat ska sample, an ELO riff, phat beats, a few stray horn riffs, and a sped-up Jungle Brothers vocal track would be one of the coolest things heard all year? --Mike McGonigal
Album Description 19 tracks mixed by Norman Cooke (a.k.a. Fatboy Slim). Features Jungle Brothers, Fatboy Slim, CLS, Hardknox and Cut La Roc. 1998 Skint release. The full title is 'On The Floor At The Boutique: Mixed By Fatboy Slim'.
Album Details Continuous Mix By Fatboy Slim. Mixes In Old-School & New Material (even By Fatboy Slim Himself)

Wanna Dance? November 19, 2008 Kirk G. Smith (Baltimore, Maryland United States) I bought this the Tuesday it hit the stores back in 2000. Not long after, someone broke into my car and took this cd but left my Band Of Gypsys cd by Jimi Hendrix. That should tell you something. Naturally I had to get this cd again and I still rock to it. From track 1, this thing is a certified club banger. Around track 13 you might want a hit of acid because it starts getting really wild. If you need big beats in your life, cop this. It's 8 years old, yet it's timeless.
Awesome October 22, 2008 Doug in CA (San Francisco, CA) I have almost all the regular Fatboy Slim stuff, but this CD is a bit different and I really like it. If you like Fatboy Slim and are looking for more, get it. I listen to this CD all the time and don't get tired of it.
A Fatboy virgin's first adventure November 1, 2005 Marks J. Higgerson (Pbluff MO USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
WOW!! This was my first Fatboy CD. I had never even heard of him before buying. I was bored musically and looking for something new, different, and good. Talk about a bullseye. I consider 'Boutique', to be one of the best CD's I've ever bought. Seamless music melding with infectious beats and glorious upbeat tempo make this a fantastic party album. Buy it, borrow it, download it, whatever it takes to experience this Fatboy masterpiece
Not all good February 15, 2004 Snack Patrol (Earth) 17 out of 27 found this review helpful
I admit there are some really good tracks on this album (specifically #1, 9, 10, and 15-19), but the rest are just OK/border on annoying. Sadly, I'll probably get 10 million people clicking the No, this review was not helpful button because I don't give every album a 5 star review. Oh well. Bottom Line: Buy this only if you are a diehard Fatboy Slim fan. Otherwise, just download the tracks I listed.
The truth about dance house music! September 5, 2002 chamaker (Bogota, Colombia) this album has a great atmosphere for those people that enjoy real dance and house beats, fatboy slim has a very unique personality for music, not to electronic but very groovy so you can feel the music in your body not only in your head. great collection, a must-listen!
