Great album; Questionable cd quality February 21, 2008 Mark James Drummond This is an excellent album, tracks 4 through 6 are the best in my opinion. Unfortunately, track 7 is a nondescript instrumental; the only low point on the whole thing. Beware of low quality cd mastering, though. My copy had some unpleasant scratchy noises from the left channel on the starts of tracks 4,6,and 7. Your tolerance for this may vary.
Barry White album #4 January 19, 2004 brother_ike (L-Boogie) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
After the monster success of his previous album 'Can't Get Enough', Barry White had the tall order in 1975 of maintaining that level of critical and commercial success.Of course, Well Of Talent & Creativity that he was, It was no task at all. On The Maestros 4th album 'Just Another Way To Say I Love You', he brings all the trademark orchestration, catchy riffs and playful love tones you would expect, and the grooves work nicely throughout. The upbeat melody and vocals on 'What Am I Gonna Do With You' are simply incredible, whilst 'I'll Do For You...' rocks hard. Both parts of 'Love Serenade' are hitting, pt. I is a brooding interlude, whereas pt. II closes the album with a downright FONKY beat! Yet another success for an awesome talent, a great example of The Maestros unique and essential 70s body of work.
A CLASSIC! January 17, 2003 JOHN D. (LV, NV (the 702)) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Worth getting just for "Love serenade". The only proble is that he split it in two parts. On the "Greatest hits" its in its complete form, and it sure is fonky! Barry White never put out a bad album in the 70's. What more do you need to know?
