Average Best Of CD Complimation, Boston April 6, 2008 Like all of the great bands from the 70s, KISS, Ted Nugent, etc... And many many more bands and also some from the 60s, they all came out with too many hits cds. This one is no different what was the point in realesing this CD we already have many other Greatest Hits CDs of Boston why another one? It includes all the average songs, more than a feeling, rock n roll band etc... But if you want just those few songs than buy this CD for 7.18 , or really just download the two songs off itunes if you have it and only spend 2 dollars. But if you dont have itunes than consider buying this CD, but just buy it used for a cent. And also its pretty cheap at how they realese all these hits CDS ecspecially Ted Nugent, theres inleast 10 Hits Cds for him, buy it if you want it or dont buy it and download it.
No point in this! February 9, 2005 Elizabeth L. Chapman 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
This review is sort of the same as my review for "More Than a Feeling" 5 stars because every song on the cd is great, 1 star because there is no point. Buy Boston, Don't Look Back, Third Stage, and Walk On instead of this. Or, if you're saving you're money and you only want one album by Boston, get greatest hits. Don't waist you're money on this.
Clone copy seek's 'Third Stadge' praise. November 2, 2002 Jared Williams (Vancouver Wa.) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
A friend of mine worked in a music store when the Boston album first came out back in the 70's. The demand was so great they didn't bother placing them on the shelf they just opened the boxes and let the public at them. To try and recapture the Boston magic through a compalation album was a nice idea but the true mojo that fire's the fan's cannot be cloned through an album such as this one. To apriciate the journey you simply cannot leave out a song such as 'Peace of Mind' and hope that no one will notice. It's obvious that this venture was a poor attempt to masquerade good intentions under the flag of Corporate America.
Buy their first two albums on CD instead. October 16, 2002 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am a die-hard fan of Boston's first two albums and also their third. They have a fourth mediocre one and a new one coming out next month(on Nov 2002). Just as the reviewer before me stated: don't bother buying this even though the music is excellent. Since it's taking songs off of the first two albums, it's not really a greates hits album. They have a real greatest hits album already. Also, just buy the first and second album CD's because every song on both is excellent. Well, I really don't care for one song but it's due to personal taste. Imagine, loving all the songs, except for one, off of two albums. This album does not include the song Peace Of Mind from the first album and that alone decreases its value. It also doesn't have the main hit that came off of the second album which is the same as the title of that second album: Don't Look Back. The first album is simple titled Boston like the band. If you aren't willing to spend on the others, by all means, then buy this one. You will be hooked and in the long run will end up buying the first two albums anyway. Enjoy what could have been the world's greatest band but thanks to Tom Scholz, who made the songs as good as they are, never did. He takes roughly eight years between making albums and loses fans and steam in the process.

This is a great summary of Boston's hits, especially for the price. One great song it's missing is "Peace of Mind". Other than that it's got the songs I really love. "More than a feeling" is obviously good. My favorite track is "A Man I'll Never Be". The guitar solo is very inspirational, and as with their other songs I was impressed by their composition, switching from one key to the next, dynamics etc. They blend technical skill with inspiration very well. I enjoy the way the guitar plays melody lines and harmomy just like the singers as a major part of the songs.
