Product Description Psychedelic soul, garage rock rave-ups, supremely smooth love songs; sixteen smashes available in the US for the first time. The band has been spreading their love in Germany since 1999, releasing full-lengths, EPs, singles, and hard-to-find vinyl. Now Khan brings the greatest of his greatest hits to Vice. Includes liner notes by Jared Swilley of The Black Lips. Look for them on tour in July and August, and at various major festivals and high profile events.
Album Description King Khan & The Shrines present their 2008 release of Supreme Genius of King Khan. The nine piece psychedelic garage rock inferno will champion through the US and Canada in 2008. If you miss this you'll have no idea what everyone is talking about the next day! Their show is a wall of horns blaring, drums pounding, bass and organ wailing with King Khan at the epicenter. Fun times! Their opening track is entitled 'Torture' and the final track is 'No Regrets' which says it all! 16 tracks.

Supreme Rockin' Soul. November 25, 2008 Don Diego Decordona (The Forest of Feelings) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If one were to imagine the perfect house band for Quentin Tarantino/Wes Anderson, it would have to be King Khan and the Shrines. King Khan, has been making dead on excellent rhythm and blues tinged soul music for over 10 years now. If you are now just discovering his excellent musical offerings by way of collaborative efforts with BBQ, or a certain refined taste in music, you will not be disappointed with the King Khan and the Shrines. Khan and the Supreme's play true mainly to the sounds of Booker T & the M.G.'s., as well certain parts of James Brown and Prince. These sounds have been long forgotten, or lost amongst the aurally challenged hordes tripping over themselves to download/steal/buy the latest Mp-3's from Lil Wayne, Kanye West, T.I., T-Pain, Ne-yo, Nickelback and countless other chromosomal challenged artists. Rock on Soul Brother!
