| Editorial Reviews:
Album Description The third and most personal album by "one of the greatest bands that A Prairie Home Companion has ever had the pleasure to host" (Garrison Keillor) contains 13 songs, including a dozen OCMS originals. The album is produced by Don Was (Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt, etc), who describes the band as "The Clash Of Bluegrass Music" and "the smartest and finest purveyors of American music to come down the pike in decades." The album itself offers a virtual American road trip, populated with characters that span a century of the South. Down and outers, hustlers, junkies and freighthoppers are just a few of the archetypes we meet along the way as OCMS continues to create their special blend of American roots, rock, blues and country music. The album also features two distinguished session musicians in drummer Jim Keltner (John Lennon, Neil Young, Brian Wilson) and organ player Benmont Tench (Tom Petty).

Nothing to crow about November 18, 2008 J. F. Kuzmick (Virginia) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Though I love this type of country music I found Tennessee Pusher to be repetitive and way too druggy. I would play maybe two of these songs again. Not worth the money.
After several listens November 2, 2008 Patrick Baude (buffalo, ny) This is definitely different from previous OCMS albums. But then again, so were OCMS, and Big Iron. After fighting the urge to dislike this album because it was different from their previous records I've grown to appreciate it for what it is: a damn good bunch of songs. This seems to be the norm with OCMS. The same thing has happened with each of their major releases. First it is deemed a sell-out, then it becomes appreciated for what it's own qualities. I'll just say that Tennessee Pusher makes me wanting more OCMS, whatever their next bunch of tracks might be like...
tennessee pusher by ocms October 28, 2008 J. goshorn (pennsylvania) once again the old crow medicine show amazes us with a wonderful new cd. they continue to push their limits and create awesome tracks of music. i have been very satisfied with the new cd and havent taken it out of my cd player in the car for a month! i will always be a fan!
Give it a chance October 25, 2008 Z. Autio This is a very good album with some very solid tracks such as Alabama High Test, Methamphetamine, Highway Halo, and Motel In Memphis. Caroline is also a good song but some might say it's not as heart felt as the original. Overall, there are a lot of good tracks but this album is surely different from their previous ones. Don't go into listening to this thinking it will be at all like Big Iron World. I definitely enjoy it an I am a very big fan of them who has all 5 of their previous albums.
Lovin' the old timey music October 24, 2008 Kathy D. Melton Old Crow Medicine Show is a great band, high energy and fun. Although I prefer their old music this is still a very good CD. The music gets stuck in your head.
