More attempts then triumphs October 11, 2008 OneLove (so fla) Some interesting ideas and a few bona fide masterful tracks do not keep the majority of material here unable to transcend DJing roots. A few songs which effortlessly merge Motown vocals with the experimental beats stand out amongst more half-composed works which still offer enough interesting background-for-thought to make the work stand out.
Just too good for words May 14, 2007 C. Kirby (Mt Pleasant, SC) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Kaada is one of the greatest composers to live. Don't believe me, then you're dumb.

This is some very impressive music, to say the very least. Lucky thing that we in America have Ipecac to rerelease some of Europe's greatest music here in the states, because this is just one of many amazing thing that I have heard from over there that I wouldn't have heard if Ipecac hadn't rereleased it. This is the first Kaada album to be released in the US, and it gave us a great example of how fine of a musician the man is. The music on here is mostly softer and more relaxing music, with several moments of ambience as well. The vocal duties are shared by many people, both men and women, and most of (if not all) of the lyrics are in English. The music is the main focus for me on here. You get several different genres all blended into one album, there's moments of rock, very old pop, hip hop, and so on. The list can go on forever. All of these genres are blended very well though, that is the main focus for me. Anyway, like I said earlier, the music is mostly more soothing stuff, but even the faster and more high energy music is soothing in its own right. All of the music has great soul to it as well, only enhancing the experience even more. All in all, this is a great release from someone who I hope to hear a lot more from in the future. His release with Patton was also something that blew me away, and I'm sure he has plenty of other things that will, but for now, this is something quite amazing in my mind.
a few really cool songs but..... April 26, 2005 Gerth Mirthful 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
most of this album is either fairly mediocre or really pretty repetive and boring. and I can't say I'd recommend buying it at full price or anything.
Great and entertaining December 20, 2004 Matthew S. Harrington (Provo, UT USA) 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
THis is a great cd, and it is in my cd player quite often. I love the mix of the old and new but it aint old news. It is actually refreshing and I cant wait to see what this guy can do in the future. Check out his work with Mike PAtton, "Romances". I wish they would release his other cd Mecd becauseI heard some samples and they are cool. Thank goodness for good musicians, real musicians in the world instead of the same old garbage that comes out, you have to go through a lot of bad to get to the good. And this one is good folks.
