Musty stink of sameness even in it's brevity May 11, 2006 OneLove (so fla) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
2 1/2 stars There are a few good songs on here- when the duo remain focused and articulated in their hellbilly vibe the sweetly distorted riffs actually compliment the vulgar, drugged out lyrics. Oftentimes though the songs feel gimmicky and cheap when the Moistboyz formula is all too apparent, as opposed to the really good songs on the album, which demonstrates Ween's extraordinary abilities to borrow from different genres. I like the cynical ode to rock they are riding, I just wish they could own up to the concept a little more rather then rock on constant autopilot.
Dick & Mick rock!!!! February 17, 2006 S. Day (Portland, OR) This cd is not for the faint of heart. Mickey (Dean Ween) totally shreds through these 2 minute punk songs. The vocals at times are hard to distinguish, but stay true to their sound. Tweaker and the walker are some what offensive, but happen to be my favorite tracks. Very solid music and lyrics, just expect really raw angst at it's very best.
awesome September 15, 2005 moistboy (minnesota) sorry i cant write a long indepth review. All I can say is that this cd is absolutley great. Like others have said it is hard rock with great guitar work. I have bought a number of cds from here, and this was the only one I felt compelled to write a review on(which means alot cause im lazy and even a good cd wouldnt warrant me telling you to get it). If you are looking at this page right now you are obviously curious about moistboyz, so just do yourself a HUGE favor and buy this cd right now!
Good ol' American Rock & Roll!!! August 12, 2005 Ryan Weiss (Boca Raton, FL United States) Man, This is Rock & Roll to the max! Good ol' Hard hitten, in your face, guitar screaming drum smashin' ROCK! Don't mistake this for your pro-to-typical mainsteam rock and roll...this is hard hitten direct from someones backyard, drink some beers, put on a wife beater and ROCK OUT! Also this album is funny. But by Funny I don't mean that it's a party prop...this is smart funny. Trust me, you'll listen over and over again, with or with out your friends, cause it's seriously addictive. In The Valley of the Sun and Black train could easily pass for todays MTV played rock songs, they actually sound like, well, you know, they should be huge hits. The rest of the songs are in a catagory all their own...Eventhough I love those two songs I just mentioned, I only mentioned them becuase they sound the most like as if you didn't know who the band was, you would probably like it! Take a chance, If you like hard hitten real American Rock, get it!

Nice, tasty beef of rock with much gravy on top. There's much fresh blood in it. I like it!
