Good songs but it's not a CD+G January 6, 2009 C. Forsythe (Buffalo, NY) I was disappointed when my daughter went to use this for the first time in her karaoke machine, because I thought that it was a CD+G and would have the words appear on the TV. Unfortunately, even though this is called a karaoke disk, it does not have lyrics that appear on karaoke machines.
Bring on the Music! May 31, 2008 David Hardison (Denver, CO USA) Most of my college friends have moved off to different cities, and it's quite a haul to visit them. Music in the car is nice, but I always get the urge to sing! That's why I enjoy this CD so much. First we are treated to somewhat simplified arrangements of ten great songs, ranging from classics like Lady and the Tramp's "Bella Note" to more current songs like "Friend Like Me" from Aladdin. Each is performed by an artist who does an excellent job of enunciating to help the budding singer hear the words and where they go (the lyrics in the booklet help too!). The next ten tracks are the same songs, but without the lead vocals. Simple, elegant, fun. Which leads to the two caveats: 1.) The "20 Tracks" label shouldn't be confused with 20 songs and 2.) There are no special lyrics/pictures/etc. encoded on the disc. Several other reviewers have groused on point two, and it does seem odd that Disney didn't offer that feature. But if you just want to cut loose and sing, you can't go wrong with this disc.
NOT for a karaoke machine but great music February 25, 2008 Emily J. Mills (GA) Disney Karaoke, Volume 2 This CD is WILL NOT show lyrics on a karaoke screen. It is great if all you want is music. We bought it for a birthday party for my daughter in which karaoke was the main attraction. This CD has a booklet of tiny words with the lyrics. It WILL NOT show up on a karaoke screen. VERY disappointing.
Don't confuse this is not a CD+G September 12, 2007 Hyung K. Chun (Cerritos, CA USA) It was my mistake but I thought I could see lylics on the monitor but it wasn't like other CD+G karaoke CD. It gives you lylics printed on a paper that you can see while you are singing.
Disney, Vol. 2 April 9, 2006 Jaenelle (USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
While most people are complaing that there are "no words", that is precisely why I bought it. (Well, that, and it was pretty inexpensive.) As a vocalist, I find the songs themselves to be very simple and easy to learn, however, the reason I bought it was because I wanted something that would help me learn to hear my cues in the music, as opposed to reading from sheet music, which I am more used to. In that, it has served its purpose. However, most people probably want to get this for their kids to have fun with, and telling a young child to learn to hear their cues in the music will probably keep them occupied for all of 5 minutes before they get frustrated. Older children might be able to do it, though. Now, I'm not a huge Disney fan, but these songs are quite good. The tempo and keys are correct, and while they do not have the original cast vocalists, the singers are pretty darn good, so you do get decent vocalists, which cannot be said for many karaoke CDs. Same goes for the instrumentation. These are not crappy remakes of the songs. So, I guess if you don't mind reading off the lyric booklet, you can't really go wrong with this CD.
