The title might be immodest, but it's accurate. Just about every holiday song parody and comedy sketch you can imagine is jimmied onto this hilarious, sprawling collection. While you'll find a smattering of well-known Christmas wackiness (including "Grandma Got Run over by a Reindeer" and the Singing Dogs' "Jingle Bells"), the Doctor's specialty is unearthing the obscure, such as Wild Man Fischer's weirder-than-weird "I Am a Christmas Tree." You'll never listen to "The 12 Days of Christmas" quite the same way after hearing the spins put on the tale by both Allan Sherman and Bob and Doug McKenzie, and you're likely to check your Christmas cookie for "special ingredients" after hearing Cheech & Chong's "Santa Claus and His Old Lady." --David Sprague

Every Christmas season, it's wonderful to enjoy the music that forms the backdrop for the holiday. However, the season, which used to be a couple weeks long, is now a couple months long; some radio stations start playing Christmas music when the Christmas decorations appear in the stores, right after Halloween. At some point, even the holiday music of Bing Crosby, Christina Aguilera, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and all the rest of the Christmas "standard" songs grow a bit stale. Dr. Demento provides a refreshing and hilarious alternative with this package. There are other, similar packages; I know because I have a few. But this is the best. I recommend it for the CD collection of anybody who has a sense of humor and celebrates Christmas, or anybody who just has a sense of humor.

Mix for every age - it's worth it for just the original recording of I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas - but there are several other funny tracks.

I was searching for "All I want for Christmas is a hippopotamus" and was thrilled to locate it on this CD but once it arrived, I was a bit shocked by some of the other rather risque songs. Not recommended for kids.

Listening to Dr Demento for years and years this is the best of the holidays. It is so fun and makes everyone that hears it smile and some times think what did they just say lol.
The Cheech and Chong Santa and his old Lady is truly a classic as is the entire cd. Every age group will enjoy this and the songs are very real and true lol.
Maybe I have a strange sense of the holidays but this is one that is a must buy.
