Only a few songs are decent. August 17, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recently purchased some of these songs on Miley Cyrus's new album, "Breakout." I only thought a few of them were decent. (Wake Up America, Breakout & Goodbye.) I thought the album was over-processed and she pushed her voice too much. So overall just download these few songs. :-O
Amazing "Breakout" Journey August 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Good job, Miley! I have this CD and yes, it includes a bunch of love songs, among my favorite is Goodbye (probably written about Nick). Amazing album for kids and tween-teens of all ages. There were a couple tracks written by Miley that aren't featured in this album, like "Don't Walk Away". Let's hope the tracks that didn't get chosen for "Breakout" appear in her next 'fan-supported' album. KEEP UP THE AWESOME LIFESTYLE, MILEY! ~Signed, OBSESSED FAN
how does she make money???? August 15, 2008 A. Bond (Anchorage, AK) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
First of all she sounds terrible in almost all of her music. Second, her songs are all about the same things! She should stop trying to be a rockstar because her voice isn't very good. Miley should stick with being Hannah Montana, the one thing she is slightly good at.
Warning: This music WILL get stuck in your head August 14, 2008 John P. Willis 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This album is packed with straight-ahead, danceable, catchy pop anthems and a few heartfelt slow songs. If you're a teenage girl, you'll probably find something to relate to here. If you're an adult, this is just straight-up feel-good musical escapism. This is pop music at its finest. Don't approach this album expecting to find any deep revelations about life and love. This is one to put on when you're doing housework or yard work, or whenever you're looking for some smooth, sweet, irresistible pop goodness. Adults not interested in hearing about decidedly teen themes should probably avoid track 1. 7 Things is the best song on the album. Irresistible. The production value is top notch. Wilder and Cutler crank out hit after hit with their careful production, and Chris Lord-Alge's mixing talents aren't disputed. Like all good pop, this stuff is heavily produced with a great deal of polish, though with more edginess and rock-informed riffs than many examples of the genre. The pop-punk influence can hardly be ignored. This album has less of a country flavor than Miley's "Hannah Montana" tracks, though her accent still pokes through on occasion. All in all, you can't go wrong with "Breakout" for a feel-good excursion into the world of teen pop. The production value
Gift August 14, 2008 Hoshu Nox (Chico, CA USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this as a gift for a close friend. I am not a fan of Miley Cyrus but my friend was very excited to receive it. The few songs I have heard were catchy and nice, considering I prefer more of the punk and techno genre.
