HILARIOUS! December 18, 2008 VANESSAMF6 (FLORIDA) I KNEW I HAD TO BUY THIS SOUNDTRACK RIGHT AFTER WATCHING THE MOVIE. IT IS EVEN MORE FUNNY THAN I REMEMBER. MY HUSBAND HAS HIJACKED IT FROM ME & HE LISTENS TO IT EVERYDAY ON HIS WAY TO & FROM WORK. HE'LL WALK IN THE DOOR STILL SINGING. IT IS HILARIOUS. IF YOU LOVED THE MOVIE THEN YOU'LL LOVE THE SOUNDTRACK EVEN MORE.
Walk Hard rocks hard! December 1, 2008 R. Bonilla (CA) I absolutely loved the movie and would highley recommend the album to anyone else who did also.
Don't stay away Dewey Cox October 10, 2008 N. Whitley (Raleigh, NC United States) Not sure everyone would appreciate or even get the humor this movie presents. But, if you are a music fan from the 50's, 60's and 70's you will enjoy the parody. And to top it off the music is very good. I even purchased the soundtrack CD and seeing it. Recommend.
It's about make a little music everyday `til you die. September 18, 2008 Johnny Heering (Bethel, CT United States) This is the soundtrack to a movie that I enjoyed a lot. The film is a satire of musical biopics like Walk the Line and Ray. The songs are funny, and in various styles, charting the changes in musical styles through the years. The most obvious influence is Johnny Cash, but there are also songs in the style of Bob Dylan, SMILE era Beach Boys and others. See the movie first, then if you enjoy the music, buy the soundtrack.
John C. Reilly has an AMAZING voice July 1, 2008 Shelby K. Irons I loved John C. Reilly's voice in Chicago with his phenomenal version of "Mr. Cellophane" so when I saw Walk Hard I was completely blown away. Throughout this musician biopic parody, his voice shines through as a genuine and compelling instrument in the silly and serious songs. It took him eight months to record EIGHTY tracks for this movie. The "Guilty as Charged" song and scene remind me sooo much of Roy Orbison. Indeed "Beautiful Ride" gives me chills as the timbre of his voice reminds me of Mr. Orbison as well. "Beautiful Ride" is my favorite song on this CD though I enjoy all of them. A great performance for a great soundtrack to a hilarious movie!
