Upbeat and catchyDecember 17, 2008 J. Casey Great album but I have a slight issue with lead singer's voice, could be better and less pitchy.
Blink 182 Meets Nickelback....Check it Out!November 28, 2007 Cory T. Shaeffer(Pittsburgh) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This band has all the raw punk energy of Blink 182 and Sum 41, but with more sensible lyrics and melodies more similar to what Chad Kroger might sing. It is really the best of both worlds. Get this: THERE IS A BALLAD ON THIS RECORD CALLED "WHEN I'm WITH YOU" that is BETTER THAN "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith. SO radio stations take note of this band. Threee songs are just SMASH hits waiting to happen: 1) When I'm With You 2) Summer Fades to Fall (Very pop-punk, beautiful melody fast pace) 3) Second Story Love Affair (Sounds like Nickelback singing pop-punk) 4) Obvious (Like an Avril song with male vocals)
For fans of melodic pop-rock, this is for you. Enjoy it, because for the price this is so worth it.
Not Original But Good NeverthelessJuly 28, 2007 Cory T. Shaeffer(Pittsburgh) This band will have a better chance of hitting it big in the US that Hedley, a Canadian band that sounds so similar to Faber Drive you would swear they were the same. This sound is sort of a cross between Nickelback, Matchbox 20, and Blink-182. Imagine Rob Thomas singing "All the Small Things" and there you have this sound. Because of the enormous appeal that this rock sound has, radio programmers and DJ's should give this a long look, because there are a few potential smash hits here. "24 Story Love Affair" is the opening track, and probably the best track, very catchy and up-tempo. A few songs drag in terms of length, but this is tolerable because the melodies are good and the guitars are cranked up most of the time. We could forgive bands like NEW Found Glory for going artsy-fartsy on us if the songs still had a hard-rocking vibe (which, specifically aimed at YOU NFG, "Coming Home" did not), and fortunately, Faber Drive does rock out enough to make this a CD that you can play all the way through and enjoy it from beginning to end.
