Amazon.com It's easy to dismiss the music of this cute, vegan, bare-pated relative of Herman Melville, especially if you don't actually listen to the music and focus instead on his ultra-PC interview style or the manner in which he sold dozens of songs to commercials and film soundtracks back in Y2K. But to do so is to knee-jerkedly miss out on some very fine and innovative music by one of the most influential musicians of the last decade. With the exception of two tracks (one of them the title tune), Go is a best-of from the years that Moby's been on the V2 label, from 1999's breakthrough hit Play onward. But Play--with its uncanny reworking of field recordings with playful beats and ambient textures--remains the artist's finest moment. A full disc of remixes and a smattering of unreleased songs (including a rad new number with Debbie Harry on guest vocals) make this an essential purchase for rabid fans. And, as a judicious selection of Play-era material is included alongside the finest songs from Moby's subsequent albums, 18 and Hotel, this is also the perfect entry point for the more casual fan. --Mike McGonigal

Such a relief... November 21, 2008 insoc (Miami, Florida United States) Nowadays I found is very hard to get great albums and by great I mean albums that you can hear from start to finish without skipping any track and finding yourself going back to the songs to hear those again and again. Thats how I declare an album a favorite of mine. As I was saying, lately its being very hard for me to get and album like this and the thing I like the most about this album (I know its a greatest hit album...) is that just when you think you have had enough of good songs and that there is no way to be more impressed there comes another song equally or even better than the last song. This album has such merits and is now, in my 1000+ cd collection one of my favorites. Thanks Moby.
Great especially if you like fashion show catwalk music. May 1, 2008 D. Liston (Redmond, WA United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Meh, I don't like fashion show catwalk music. And the bonus disc is just full of the hypey-techno-push dance tunes, a genre I really, really don't like. There are several cuts I do like a lot on here, but wish I'd have got -18- instead.
Go: The Very Best of Moby April 29, 2008 Brigitte Truman (Chillicothe, OH USA) This album is simply wonderful. I listen to it daily, still. I recommend it highly. Moby is great.
Good for the casual fan November 28, 2007 Adam Baker (Tucson, AZ) I'm a casual fan of Moby, and I enjoyed this. It has a number of good tracks that I hadn't encountered previously (i.e., on the radio). Well worth the price. The remix CD I could take or leave... perhaps it would be good for a dance party.
Interesting Remix and "Best of" October 12, 2007 HushPe (New Zealand) Famous DJ's take Moby tracks and really remix them. First CD is a best of, the second CD is why you'll buy the album with a variety of different mixes from the DJs. A good CD to add to your Moby collection.
