Product Description Raffi makes Quiet Time a special time. With his distinct brand of gentle humor and unique way of speaking directly to the heart of a child, he makes nap time, bedtime, cuddle time or just winding down time a warm and loving experience. Listen to the Horses, Like Me and You, Mary Wore Her Red Dress, Spring Flowers, Slow Day, Douglas Mountain, Sunflower, Haru Ga Kita, Blessed Be and more.
Amazon.com It's not as though Raffi's music is overly rockin' to begin with, but this collection of sleepy retreads specifically designed for use during "a pause, a cuddle, or a nap" isn't completely without warrant--nobody wants a bananaphone ringing when the Play-Doh's finally stowed and the Sandman's been called in, after all. Even during wide-awake time, few discs are as overall electric-blanket cozy. "Twinkle Twinkle" does, in fact, take on diamond-like qualities in Raffi's capable hands, and "Row, Row, Row" travels more gently than usual down the stream. The originals pack a powerful plush fleeciness, too--the Japanese "Haru Ga Kita" crosses cultures in the kindliest, most whispery way possible, and "Blessed Be," a Raffi classic, is enough to make anybody want to drift off feeling flush with wholesomeness; call it the equivalent of a forehead-kiss and a tuck-in. Quiet, overall, is rarely so velvety. --Tammy La Gorce

Puts me to sleep too! October 24, 2008 E. Schwam (Houston, TX) This CD is great for putting preschoolers to sleep and keeping Mommy entertained too. I usually get really sleepy listening to it.
Another masterpiece from Raffi! January 18, 2008 Kimberly Nair (Ballwin, Missouri) Raffi has done it again, another brilliant piece of work from this amazing artist! I bought this CD when I was expecting my son, & he has been listening to it at bedtime since we brought him home from the hospital. It never fails, by the 3rd song my son is asleep. He just celebrated his 1st Birthday & this CD is still part of our nightly routine. Beautiful songs in that soft, soothing, familiar voice. A gentle blend of songs that soothe the soul. Blessed Be is a song that will touch your heart. Any home with a newborn needs this calm, quiet CD.
Great CD May 7, 2007 Kristin L. Brand (Verona, WI USA) I love this CD. It's one of my favorites. Great for calming a young child.
I don't get it - January 16, 2007 Just Kate (Detroit, Mi) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
I'm previewing cds from the library before purchasing for my new grandson. The first Raffi cd I listened to - "Rise and Shine" - was wonderful. This one though is a mixture of styles that seemed disjointed. Twinkle Twinkle is whiny, Sunflower is beautiful, Like me and you has a nice concept, but doesn't seem all that restful, since there's no repetition, it's just a litany of kids names and the countries they're from. One of my criteria is that the cd must be enjoyable for adults as well as kids, and this one just isn't that great from my perspective. I'm happy to see that other reviewers' kids enjoyed the cd, but I just don't get it.
Great for "quiet time" January 4, 2007 Eric P. Anderson (Austin, TX United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Our 2yr old girl loves Raffi, and so this album was a hit automatically. It's soft, soothing, and enjoyable even for us parents to listen to (over and over again). She enjoys every song, and they are all sung in a soft, relaxing manner, perfect for quiet times before naps, before bedtime, or in the car.
