Loved the Movie, Loved the Soundtrack October 17, 2007 The Divine Miss L 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I definitely think this soundtrack is better than the US version. The score is excellent but I also wanted the songs featured in the movie. I find it odd that people complained that there were some bands lacking. I'm not sure I can identify w/them. From what I see, the non-instrumental songs featured in the film are on the CD. I'd like to point out that if memory serves me correctly, Tears for Fears' version of "Mad World" was never featured in the movie. The movie used the re-make by Gary Jules. I have listened to both CDs numerous times & each song evokes a feeling & of course, it brings me back to the point in the movie where it was featured. I'm definitely happy I bought the 2 disc version instead of the 1 disk US release.
Amazing soundtrack and score October 5, 2007 Sarah J. Gunderson (Port Richy, Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The soundtrack and score are great. I thought it was a little pricey but it was certainly worth it. All of the songs are so good and the score is hauntingly beautiful. Definitely a must have. Mad World by covered by Gary Jules is a highlight of this album.
Donnie Darko September 7, 2007 Damon Veach (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This soundtrack is mesmerizing and stays with you long after it ends. It is the soundtrack for the movie which is outstanding and shows that Jake Gyllenhaal is Hollywood's top young actor. It is unusual in it content, but the performances by Jake and the other cast members really makes this one a "cult item." I purchased the CD so I could enjoy the complete sound track over and over.
Donnie Darko August 2, 2007 Daniel N. OConnor Given as a gift to a teenage friend. She just loved the video and said the sountrack was great, too.
