Vastly Overrated Band:the Al Jolsen of Hip-Hop October 8, 2005 mistermaxxx@yahoo.com (usa) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
there Music is Painted on,but has no soul. they been around all this time&still can't write a Memorable song. they are vastly overrated&Pull a Al Jolsen on people:they play Neo Soul, but lack any kind of real Soul.just like this song, they never say much of nothing.
Dont say Nuthin October 28, 2004 Chris (St.Louis,MO) to those who dont know about good hip hop just let them suffer to the same old same old never tell them because there to busy watching 106 and Park every day at 5PM.
Don't Say Nuthin Bad about this song... July 24, 2004 Darius F (Toronto, ON Canada) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
...Or else I'll have to disagree with you! This is one tight joint indeed. The lead single off their upcoming album "The Tipping Point", is definitely a solid one. It has an ill beat and all 3 verses are tight ones. The hook, however, I'm not too crazy about, it sounds like it's being mumbled, which sorta plays in with the song, but it's not the greatest. Other than that, it's a great track for sure, may not be getting that much radio play, but Roots fans will be pleased.
FANTABULOUS July 13, 2004 diane johnson (lbakersfield, ca United States) THE ROOTS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ONE OF MY FAVORITE BANDS. tHE LYRICS AS USUAL ARE ON HIT. THE MUSIC IS TIGHT AND MAKES YOU WANT TO HEAR MORE. THE THING I LOVE ABOUT THE ROOTS IS THERE IS ALWAYS A POSITIVE MESSAGE AND NOT ALL DRESSED UP WITH ALOT OF NONSENSE THAT TAKES AWAY FROM THE MUSIC. THE VIDEO WAS CLASSY AS USUAL NOT ALOT OF DEGRADATION TO WOMEN WHICH I WILL ALWAYS APPLAUD. CAN'T WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW TO HEAR THE REST.
Dope June 25, 2004 T Doubles (Reynoldsburg, OH United States) This is a dope song..... Black Thought is one of the most slept on emcees there is.
