Editorial Reviews:
Album Description Taken from the 2002 album, Bunkka. Two non-LP tracks, 'Hypnotised' (Kowalski Radio Edit - off the forthcoming Perfecto Presents Paul Oakenfold - Great Wall, Deepsky's Radio Reaktor Remix) & the original album version, with vocals on all three by Tiff Lace
Customer Reviews:
Enchanting track, could have used a couple more remixesMarch 25, 2005 Stephen J. White(Richmond, Virginia United States) Hypnotised was one of the singles that came off of Oakenfold's artist album "Bunkka", as well as Paul Oakenfold's double CD DJ album, "Great Wall." The single for Hypnotised tries to do what the album version that appears on Bunkka did not, and tries to create a catchy full loaded trance song. This ends up working for the most part, as one can tell from just listening to either the Deepsky Reaktor remix or the Kowalski remix. Of the two, the Kowalksi remix is the definte more trancy version. Oakenfold though chose to put the Deepsky version on Great Wall, which in a way just adds more value to the release, since you would have to buy this CD to hear the Kowalski version. It should be noted though that the Kowalski version of Hypnotised does appear on various other DJ comps from 2003-4, but none of them are of course official Oakenfold releases. Also, Oakenfold had the Kowalski remix used for the video for Hypnotised.
Hypnotised is a decent single, but it will of course never be enough for those who feel bitter for buying Bunkka, since it only features 5 tracks, one of which is the same version from Bunkka. Still, the trance versions of Hypnotised are addictive as well as enchanting, and should be looked into. If perhaps Oakenfold managed to gain at least one or two more friends to contribute remixes, there is a feeling that this would nave been one heck of a single.
Awesome song, even better video!February 23, 2004 null(Fremont, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Do yourself a favor and listen to the Kowalski remix. The Deepsky mix is absolutely horrible. I can't believe people actually like it.
Be sure to check out the video. It's played on XRM, Powershout, and NTCast. There's some crazy footage of Oakenfold at the Great Wall... unbelievable. On a side note, I question why he chose that chick in the video. She doesn't even look Chinese (more like Filipino). Nevertheless, it really makes the video even more impressive. :) Definitely check out the song and the video.
Perfecto should be burned for releasing this...October 10, 2003 Louie Moran(Burnaby, British Columbia Canada) 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
Not that this song isn't bad. In fact, I really like the Kowalski Remix of 'Hypnotized' But the problem is, it's not on here and neither is the Deepsky Remix. All there is the Radio Edits of both those mixes which are basicaly useless to anybody who is serious about dance music. And there is the album mix which isn't much good to me but it may be good to you depending if you like that mix. So basicly this is a very mediocre relese that would be good to radio stations but that's about it.
My point here is that is fail to see the logic in releasing a single if you're going not going to release the full length remixes of the song. Otherwise you are just selling the consumers short and insulting their intellegence. And you wonder why there is a such thing as MP3's
It's too bad because I was looking forward to this relese. But untill Perfecto releses a Proper single of 'Hynotized' with full length remixes instead of this garbage. Avoid this like the plauge.
