My curiosity about a nebulous group is solved.September 16, 2008 Carl T. Zellers II(Lebanon, PA) Good concert video, but lacking in enthusiasm. They ain't no Rolling Stones. For real entertainment watch the new concert video on the Stones by Martin Scorsasie (sp) titled "Shine A Light".
GREAT BAND...GREAT DVD!!!July 2, 2008 mistymerlot(Alabama) I bought this dvd for my husband, who is a huge fan of Dire Straits. I also like the band. The way they put together clips from live concerts, along with music videos (when music videos were actually interesting) was very well done. A great trip down memory lane for any "baby boomer"!
Classics!!May 9, 2008 Jerry Jensen(Roswell, ga United States) Great collection of classic videos. Interesting study of MTV evolution as well. Started with concert like video of the band playing Sultans, then goes more into story line videos, including the classic Money For Nothing digital thing (Walk of Life and Calling Elvis are also classics that my kids still appreciate), and ultimately leads back to the concert recordings that are in the On The Night DVD. If you are a Knopfler or Dire Straits fan you need to own this one. I have showed it to friends on my IPOD and they all chuckle with the memories they bring.
I love it!October 30, 2007 William(Australia) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been a fan of Dire Straits as long as I can remember, but chose not to get this DVD because I assumed that Dire Strait videos wouldn't be that exciting to watch. Well, despite a few being very dated (eg. Tunnel of Love) this DVD is fun to watch and many of their DVDs are great to watch such as "Money for Nothing" and "Calling Elvis". Most of their hits are on here, the obvious ommissions probably didn't have a video made for them. I had never seen the video for "Private Investigations" or "So Far Away" so it was great to see them. As another reviewer pointed out, the video for "Brothers in Arms" is simply amazing.
A wise purchase for all Dire Straits fans.
Very Good Quality...May 17, 2007 H. J. King(Los Angeles) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As an "On Again" fan of Dire Straits since "Brothers in Arms" this collection of videos is very well done and well worth the asking price. Sound and picture quality are very good and song selection is indicative of their collected body of works.
