Not much to be said here March 7, 2004 It's just a tight package of streetwise hardcore from Detroit. The lyrics deal with issues and events in the turbulent lives of the band members; the end message is one of hope and keeping your strength up in a world that can seem hopeless. Musically, the vocals can seem a bit odd at times but you get used to them fast. Guitar work is good; nothing too technical, but the musicianship base is definitely in this. Drummer Jeff was one of the best drummers in hardcore and his talents are on display throughout. Bassist (and talented tattoo artist) Aaron is now with Walls of Jericho. Their overall style is the (relatively) early days of modern hardcore, predating repetitive "chug" breakdowns. If these guys had continued, they would be regarded as one of the peers of Madball, no less.
Hard, strong, clean, Punk/hardcore with a positive message September 20, 1998 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wandered into a local cafe, and found these guys on stage. After 2 songs I was convinced I had to buy the CD! It's hard these days to find a good hardcore band that isn't sloppy, juvenille, and unprofessional. These guys hit the mark right on. They are clean, sober, professional and full of energy. Probably the best thing to come along since the Def-Tones got airplay. Universal Stomp is proof that short-hair punk doesn't have to be Neo-Nazi hate.
