Pressure Drop - Elusive April 30, 2008 DJ Deathwish (Tucson, AZ) Well, what can I say? This album is really hit AND miss for me. I feel half the tracks are stellar and the other half are abysmal failures, sometimes downright annoying. Fortunately, the other tracks are just so good that I had to keep it, but really I have not ever listened to such a lopsided CD in my life. So in closing, I can do no more than give this average rating, there is some gold in there, but you have to sift through crap to find it.
Subtle Charmer August 27, 2005 Timothy Patrick Lyons (Denver, CO United States) Okay, it took a while for this album to grow on me, but wow! once it did, it simply knocked me out! The album is a bit on the long side (over an hour) but weaves in psychedelia, reggae, electronica, classical, funk, avant-garde, and personal politics all into a kaleidescope of colors and tones that will have you humming at the most unusual times of day. After a few listens, you will very likely find yourself actually relaxing more each time you listen. They may not get the press of groups like air, but they have easily as much talent...
A hidden gem of the world of psychedelia March 14, 2003 Michael H. Mara (Atascadero, CA United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I stumbled upon this CD purely by accident. Listened to it a few times and thought, well, this is interesting, but it wasn't until I slapped it on during a particularly fierce mushroom trip that I really GOT it. I have a good older audiophile quality system, and in a dark room with the volume plentiful, I moved around INSIDE of the music on this album, and was awestruck. It is fully obvious to me that this album was crafted specifically to lead one through a trip, with tension and release, fear and comforting, sadness and resolution, in waves coming with the different songs. Absolutely a masterpiece when viewed in this light, and heartily recommended for that 'special experience'. These guys knew what they were doing, and did it well. Check it out under psychedelic influence, and see if you don't agree. Masterful, touching, beautiful, and intense. Happy trails!

OK, it seems that single tracks on this CD are a little bit long-winded. But nevertheless it's a vigorous sign of life by Pressure Drop. And we need them. Because their wording and music is simple great. From my point of view it's a big bang to have nowadays artists like P.D. All my best and five ***** for their presence.
Good start, needs work October 29, 1998 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
the tracks on this album that are good are really good. But the rest definitly need some work. this band has a similar flavor to massive attack, but they just dont have the same flair yet. But I think it will come out.
