simply beautiful August 4, 2004 Reb (Portland, OR) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This album is enchanting. The singing is raw and real, with no fancy studio work to make it pretty. The songs are carefully chosen to showcase different writers, and the singers perform them with strength and assurance. It's a must have for those who like folk music. My only complaint is the liner notes left me a bit cold; the person who wrote them was a bit presumptive and chock full of his own goodness. Skip the liner notes and just listen to the music; it's worth every penny. I can't get my CD out of my boyfriend's car, so I may have to buy another one. This from a guy who likes rap.
