UN DISCO MUY ESPECIAL November 6, 2007

No soy un fan de Luis Miguel ni un admirador, dificilmente compre un disco suyo. Pero entiendo que hay que ser justos, este es un disco muy valido, perfectamente logrado. Cuando hace ya mas de una decada recibi este disco como un regalo, lo habre escuchado un par de veces y hasta hace pocos dias, quedo lisa y llanamente descartado en mi coleccion. Creo que detestaba este trabajo. Pero cuando lo volvi a encontrar, decidi darle otra oportunidad, y ahi me di cuenta que estuve equivocado. Es un disco que ha dado nueva vida al bolero, lo ha modernizado, y fue un factor de difusion decisivo. Creo que gran parte del resultado se debe al trabajo de produccion de Armando Manzanero, impecable por donde se lo mire, lo mismo que los arreglos de Bebu Silvetti. Con estos ingredientes se ha logrado un disco muy agradable de escuchar, balanceado, y si bien no es perfecto, si deja una sensacion de que cada uno de los que han intervenido en su grabacion y proceso puso lo mejor de si.
Las canciones incluidas son joyas indiscutibles, pero a mi entender los puntos mas altos estan en "Inolvidable", "Contigo a la distancia", "Te extrano" y "La Puerta". El resto no desentona para nada.
El unico punto que hoy resulta discutible es la calidad de la grabacion, que si bien a su tiempo era impecable, hoy, cuando ya paso mas de una decada y media desde su lanzamiento (1991), no parece tan buena, y quizas este es un asunto que tiene solucion con las tecnicas actuales de remasterizacion.
En suma, no me atrevo a llamarlo una obra maestra, pero si un trabajo muy recomendable que marco a fuego una epoca en la que el bolero renacio para el gran publico.

This is Luis Miguel's breakthrough into romantic ballads and one of the best cd's you will own. It won't matter if you don't speak spanish because the music transcends language barriers.
Even though it is over ten years old now, the music does not sound dated as the arrangements are timeless.

This album is wonderful! I heard the song, "No Se Tu", on the Speechless movie, and HAD to find it! I don't normally buy Spanish albums, but this? This was one you HAVE to have!!!
And YES! MUCHO love has been made to these songs............
