Amazon.com Radiohead's third album got compared to Pink Floyd a lot when it came out, and its slow drama and conceptual sweep certainly put it in that category. OK Computer, though, is a complicated and difficult record: an album about the way machines dehumanize people that's almost entirely un-electronic; an album by a British "new wave of new wave" band that rejects speed and hooks in favor of languorous texture and morose details; a sad and humanist record whose central moment is Thom Yorke crooning "We hope that you choke." Sluggish, understated, and hard to get a grip on, OK Computer takes a few listens to appreciate, but its entirety means more than any one song. --Douglas Wolk

thom must be my brotherAugust 24, 2008 J. Ventura(Walnut Creek, CA) I love this record, its the most inspired recording of the nineties from beginning to end. Even the lyrics are really on, at times its like Thom Yorke is my long lost brother the way his mind works and the things that he's thinking about. "Exit Music" is my favorite Radiohead song because of how intense it is. A lot of this record seems to be driven by spite and bitterness but that's all good - better get that energy out in the studio then with a machine gun in a school yard. And the best way to kill someone is to shame them into killing themselves anyway right? Radiohead's smartest move has been to not even attempt to top this record and instead go and make more atmospheric, moody music; this is the peak and would be for anybody.
A masterpieceAugust 22, 2008 Gordon Thomas(New York) I loved this CD so much I bought it for my cousin for his birthday so he could listen to this great album. All the songs are great, even the song "the Tourist," which of all of them is my least favorite (But I still like it.) This is my second favorite Radiohead album, with "the Bends" being my first favorite. If you like this one check out the b sides from it on the CD "Airbag How Am I Driving?" Radiohead finally got the Grammy they deserved for their fine work.Airbag/How Am I Driving? [EP] [Limited Edition]
OK Computer is undefinable in its greatnessAugust 10, 2008 Ira M. Barth The first time I heard OK Computer, I was speechless. Even now, it's hard to put into words how amazing this album is. Simply put, OK Computer brings something to the listener in both meaning and emotion that makes it truly spectacular.
hoplessly dull...July 28, 2008 couchgrouch(cochise, az United States) 2 out of 8 found this review helpful
after reading so much about how this was a new "Dark Side of the Moon" I finally bought it. I know Dark Side of the Moon, Dark Side of the Moon is a friend of mine... trust me, OK computer is no Dark Side. There isn't a single memorable song on this sleepy bore. There is more memorable music in Time's guitar solo than this whole cd. The band sounds like they're on thorazine as they slip through one echo drenched yawner after another. that echo stuff gets old as it is listening to U2...why build a whole career out of copying it? wildly over-rated by those who haven't heard stuff from the 60s and 70s. Pop music's standards have seriously slipped and people who regard this aural sedative as a "classic" record are proof.
Great AlbumJuly 20, 2008 Falazzz(Quito, Ecuador) Without a doubt one of the best albums Ive ever heard, cannot say its the greatest because Radiohead does have other albums which are as great so buy them all you will not be disappointed.
