Hard Core Brilliance May 17, 2008 Raymond Chalouhe (Sydney Australia) Ice-T's third album and one of the best. He lays it all out in this cd with a mix of gangster tales to political views about corrupt governments, the drug trade and censorship of knowledge. As always, the beats are an awesome backdrop for his vocals, which are brilliantly worded and rapped out in his unique style. Don't miss it!
BEST ICE-T EVER! March 6, 2007 W. Burdin (USA, USA) I own it, it is one of, if not THE BEST ICE-T ALBUM. This album started his politcal spread into white sub-urbia. He combined Heavy Metal rock with rap and was way ahead of his time with this album. I mean the subjects he talks about here directly relate to 9-11 and the old paranoid attitude of most americans apathy. WARNING!! WARNING!! Not for the nieve hip hop boys and girls. I reccomend this for any music historian.
Truly A Hip-Hop Classic ! December 14, 2006 Mercedes (Right Next To You) each track from start to finish....AWESOME! even though i'm a female every now and then i got to have some "grit" in my music collection. "Easy On The Cut....No Mistakes Allowed."
The hardest of his albums July 27, 2006 C. Ream (Bluffton, Ohio) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
The first album contains a couple of thought provoking and good sounding tracks, this one adds to the lot. Aside of his very old school stuff, I'd stick with this and the 1st album, forget the rest of his collection.
Classic Gansta Hip-Hop February 3, 2006 T. Gore (Neu Joisy) Even though today Ice-T has pretty much left the music bizz, and is doing TV and Movies, lets not forget what he contributed to the Hip-Hip community back in the day. Ice-T might have been one of the first ganster artist (his first release Ryhme Pays was released a year before NWA's Straight Outta Compton. Out of all his releases this might be his best effort. Sure there are some filler tracks here, yet the other songs are so good and powerful, that they make up for the bad songs on this. You played yourself and The Peel their caps back are my personal favorites on this, and anyone looking for great Ganasta rap, should ditch thier 50 Cent CD's and pick this one up. Even though Ice-T has made it into the mainstream, I dont believe he sold out. He started out back in the day as a nobody, and as he got older he made some career moves that would get him into Movies and TV. You can't be making Ganster Material forever, as it just wouldnt sound right for 40+ yr old man to be rapping about guns and pimping (would it) He does, however still do some musical work, and his love for hardcore and Metal Music still show as he did a guest appearence on Six Feet Unders "True Carnage" in 2001. Enjoy this piece of hip-hop History.
