"Alchemy" a golden chemistryAugust 15, 2008 Michael Dodd(Fredericksburg, Va., USA) One of the best Live album's ever done. The live versions of the songs are better than the studio recordings.
Dire Straits at their bestJune 3, 2008 bstoro(NH) I purchased this CD to replace an old taped copy I owned - was a bargain price, though I was a bit worried when I received a package from South America... But it's a quality recording non American version of the CD - the music is still fantastic all these years later. It is one of the best live albums around, and if you only can own one Dire Straits CD, this is it (though it is a 2 disc set!). The vesrions on here are better than the originals, especially "Romeo and Juliet" and "Sultans of Swing".
I Want my pre-MTVMarch 28, 2008 J. Moore(Spring Lake, MI) Before Walk of Life and Money for Nothing, this is what make DS great. Smooth, tight and well played live show.
The best of Dire Straits Live - ever!!July 29, 2007 R. S. Neto(sao paulo, brazil) This is the best live show of DS... believe me, I have more than 300 cds of live shows of all years, starting in 1977 and the last live tour. This one is my favourite and I am hearing it since 1987, exactly 20 years and can't get satisfied. If you like this, buy the VHS (so far, no dvd release) and see it with your eyes, you will not believe what Mr. Knopfler can do!

This was a good album when it first came out and gave the listener some image of what it is like to hear this band live. Very few recordings can ever do that experience justice. This remaster of the original goes part of the way to achieving that experience. It has brought out some of the excitement and emotion of being part of that audience. I really like this album and would recommend it to any one who likes Dire Straits.
