This is ROCK! October 11, 2008 P. Myers (Alberta) Pure rock n roll plain and simple. The way it should be, Ronny and Sammy need to teach the new generation how to play.
File under: Essential May 24, 2008 Harold G. Meeks Jr. (raleigh nc) Monster hotdoggin guitar god riffs. Sammy Hagar in his early 20's. Not a dud track in the bunch. This album is a blueprint for many, many following bands, specifically Van Halen. I can't believe you don't already own this album, and you say you like rocknroll. I'll wait here until you order it.
Simply put, one of the best hard rockin' albums.... April 4, 2008 David A. Mccay (LA (Lower Arkansas)) to come out of the '70s. This album stands as a milestone in the history of rock--with the introduction of Sammy Hagar, the rise of Ronnie Montrose as one of the best rock guitarists around and a solid rhythm section of Bill Church and Denny Carmassi driving it all along."Good Rockin Tonight", "Rock the Nation", "Bad Motor Scooter", "Rock Candy" and my favorite from this one-- "Make It Last"-- are all outstanding songs. I saw Montrose twice in 1974(the first time opening for the formidable Humble Pie) and they ROCKED!I had never heard of them when they opened at the Pie concert, but by the end of their set I was a dedicated fan.Get this disc!

Rockin'! February 2, 2008 Scott Wallace (Noblesville, IN USA) Long before he existed as a well known solo act or as frontman for Van Hagar, Sammy Hagar served as vocalist for a little rock outfit named Montrose. Now, it may not be as famous as his days with the boys in VH, but the music is just as good, if not better. Straight up, guitar driven rock n' roll, for the most part, Montrose marked their own piece of 70s rock territory with this, their self-titled debut. It's not without flaws, but most of my criticisms would be nitpicking about an album that is, otherwise, fully enjoyable! A good time album, full of rockin' songs!
